Nice to Meet You
We want to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share our lives with you. We hope that you can feel the love we have for each other and our family. As adoptive parents already, we understand the amazing gift a child is to a family. We have learned that it is in Sadie’s best interest to talk about her adoption and birth family. If you choose us to be your child’s adoptive parents we would love to have a level of openness that you are comfortable with. We promise to always tell your child how incredibly brave we feel you are and you will always be respected in our home. We pray that you have strength during what must be a difficult time.
We are a family built by adoption
We have been lucky enough to have a close relationship with Sadie’s biological brother and cousin who were also adopted. We speak with their family regularly. One time we were able to get together with their adoptive parents to take all of the kids to an aquarium. They all loved looking at the stingrays and penguins. It made us so happy to see the kids interreacting and sharing excitement over common interests.
Home and Neighborhood
We have a fully fenced in backyard that is great for fun, games and cookouts. We recently had some family over for a cookout. It was a hot day and decided to break out the water balloons. After we were all soaking wet we tried to pose for a picture when Shelby’s uncle unexpectedly sprayed us all with the water hose.
We live in a family friendly neighborhood located in one of the top school districts. One of the things we enjoy the most is living on a cul-de-sac. We have a street full of kids of various ages. It’s such a joy to see all of the kids playing together and it is comforting to know other parents are always watching out for kids while driving down our road. This year we invited Sadie’s neighborhood friends over to our house to celebrate her birthday. We bought a unicorn pinata for her party and didn’t realize we didn’t have anything outside for it to hang on. We tied the pinata to the end of a broom stick and Marc was brave enough to hold the other end. He was lucky enough to only get hit one time.
Our community hosts many events throughout the year. Some of our favorite events have been an Easter
egg hunt, Christmas parade and fall festival. At the most recent event they had a petting zoo, bounce house and pony rides. Sadie joined in on a hula-hoop contest. We joked that Marc would have done something like this when he was a child and wouldn’t have cared about having an audience watching him while Shelby would have never done anything to draw attention to herself.
Thank you for allowing us to share a peek into our lives. We recognize this must be a very emotional process and a difficult consideration. If chosen, we promise to raise your child with the understanding of where he or she came from and the ultimate sacrifice you made to provide him or her with the life you envision for them. You will always be a part of your child’s story and our story. Should you choose this path, we promise to be open with your child about the courageous decision you made. We pray that you have strength and peace during this time. We would love to learn more about you and have a level of openness that you are comfortable with. Thank you for considering us.
